24 Hours On The Move '02

Sat, Dec 7 2002 NOON - Sun, Dec 8 2002 NOON
(Check-in and map/course handout 10AM Saturday)
Fort Ouiatenon - West Lafayette, IN

24 Hours On The Move is a 24 hour long training exercise for outdoor enthusiasts and adventure racers. This is a great opportunity to try a longer course for: less money, nearby location, variable distance cutoffs to customize your challenge level and experienced people to give you pointers as you go. This isn't a race so people will be, slightly, less competitive. Its expected that some people will not complete the course. The goal here is to have fun and be on the move for a solid 24 hours. The 2002 event will have:

  • Trekking: 25-40 miles along dirt trails
  • Biking: 80+ miles (mostly paved but some gravel, fire roads and single track)
  • Paddling: 10-21 miles ... mostly at night. PFD, canoe and paddle provided.
  • Navigating: Map will be 1:24,000. One map per team. 6-10 miles.
  • Ropes: Ascend, Rapell and Traverse. Ascend will be about 70 feet.
